A person who contaminated treats with sedative and gave them to minors at a summer camp in Leicestershire has pleaded guilty to sexual offenses against two boys both nine and 10.
The defendant was taken into custody after eight minors and an older person experienced illness at Stathern Lodge in the summer month.
The senior citizen, from that region, pleaded guilty to a total of 17 charges when he was present at the judicial center on Friday.
Yet, he disputed one particular crime he was accused of, which was involving a nine-year-old boy.
Ruben was held in detention prior to a additional proceeding on 28 November.
'Candy game'
The prosecutor, prosecuting, outlined the defendant's actions to the judicial body.
She said his victims were disadvantaged youngsters who were staying at a youth camp which he operated.
The defendant engaged in a "treat game" with the youngsters, the legal counsel said, in which he would enter the children's bedrooms when they were preparing to sleep and request they to ingest treats "rapidly".
She stated to the judge Ruben had engaged in this activity with the children "over an extended period", and youngsters had earlier experienced illness the following morning.
She explained the defendant had been able to explain this over a long period as the children being "overexcited from fun", until his family member had worries in July 2025.
The legal representative stated further: "Recently" his stepson had suspicions about what was going on, with valid cause.
"They decided to have a look in the man's possessions."
The prosecutor stated materials including infant oil, Vaseline and medical needles were located, and his stepchild contacted the law enforcement about his worries.
She stated the defendant proceeded to conduct the "candy game" with six boys that time - July 26th - and they were everyone unwell the next day.
"Authorities" had not responded by that point," she continued.
The police watchdog, the investigative body, previously told that it was reviewing Leicestershire Police's handling of the events.
Mrs Prior said the minors were unable to walk properly due to their sickness, so Ruben's stepson called the authorities a second time.
She stated Ruben then conducted the "sweet game" in a area of five children.
